Highlights: The hospital brought, for the first time in Asia, the 128 Slice CT Scanner. The hospital is the regional blood bank and uses Swiss technologies for grouping and matching of blood. Recently, the hospital entered into a tie-up with Japan based Nichi-in Centre for Regenerative transplantation.
CSR: The hospital is known to outreach programme and have done cataract surgeries for around 70,000 people so far under this. The centre conducts 13-14 camps every week in rural and tribal areas. The hospital is working with the Government of India under the National Programme for Control of Blindness, for squint eye surgeries.
The hospital also runs Save a Million Hearts programme for screening around million people over 10 years in order to combat heart ailments in the society. The hospital has conducted 3,000 free dialysis treatments, 450 subsidised kidney transplants, 85 free coronary bypass surgeries, and 150 free heart surgeries for children./
Future plans : The hospital is working on awareness creation amongst people on preventive healthcare. Plans are on for a cancer hospital, a hi-tech trauma care hospital for accident victims, centre for terminally ill patients and in distant future, starting a medical college.
