KG Hospital has been a trendsetter in the country to treat poison victims over the years.
During the year 2014, the hospital saved 20 snake bite and other insect bite victims, 107 victims who had consumed poison, 8 victims who had attempted hanging and 10 people who had attempted to burn themselves.
The hospital has a well knit team of specialists to handle all types of poisonings.
In order to educate the medical fraternity about the growing incidents of poisoning and measures to be adopted for treating them, KG Hospital is conducting a Conference titled “Critical Care Update on Toxicology POISONING A PRACTICAL APPROACH” at the Ball Room, Grand Regent, Avinashi Road, Coimbatore, on 3rd January, 2015 from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
The conference will be a forum for budding doctors and those aspiring to treat poison victims to learn about the various types of poisons – both indigenous and imported – available in the market and treatment modalities to be followed. KG Hospital has pioneered the concept of comprehensive management of all types of poison control, both available in the country and abroad.
Apart from the conference on Poisoning, a book release function too would be held during the event. The book covers all facets of poison management written by the expert team of doctors of KG Hospital who have a wide array of experience in the field.
150 medical practitioners and 50 student doctors would stand to benefit from this programme.
