A six-day-old baby from Edappadi in Salem district was successfully operated upon for the physical condition called “congenital neuroblastoma in the right adrenal gland” in KG Hospital recently.
In layman’s terms it means a cyst in the right adrenal gland of the baby.
According to KG Hospital Chairman Dr G.Bakthavathsalam, on the fifth day of the surgery, the parents, along with the baby, left home happily.
A medical team consisting of Dr R.Dharmendra, Paediatric Surgeon, Dr C.Srinivasan, Paediatrician, and Dr Senthilkumar, Chief Anaesthesiologist, attended on the baby.
The parents said that the baby was born in a private hospital at Salem on October 18, 2016. As the baby developed certain health complications, the doctors in Salem hospital gave a grim picture about her condition.
The doctors there told the parents that the baby had a tumour in the abdomen and it was difficult to save her. This created a scary situation for the parents. However, the doctors told them to take the baby to Coimbatore and try their luck.
The parents brought the baby to KG Hospital and got the treatment. They said that the doctors in KG Hospital cooperated well and the nurses took good care of the baby.
The fully satisfied parents thanked Dr Bakthavathsalam and the medical team for saving the child through their kind attention and sincere treatment.
