A 28-year-old woman patient named Bhakti Prakash Bahirwani from Telengana successfully underwent cadaver liver transplant in KG Hospital and got fully recovered within 10 days.
According to Dr K.Kirubakaran, Consultant Liver Transplant Surgeon of KG Hospital, the patient got admitted in KG Hospital on January 31, 2018 with cryptogenic acute chronic liver failure. The reason for the disease was unknown.
At her native place, the patient was hoping to get liver from a live donor but none of her relatives’ medical parameters matched the transplant requirements. Meanwhile, her health condition deteriorated.
On admission in KG Hospital she was categorized as the patient requiring “super urgent liver transplant.” Therefore, on a priority basis, the liver harvested from a cadaver was transplanted in her. Post-transplant she is active and cheerful.
KG Hospital Chairman Dr G.Bakthavathsalam congratulated the medical team for the successful transplant.
The happy patient has sent an appreciation letter, reproduced below:
“My dearest KG Hospital Liver Transplant (OP & Post OP care) Angel Team and Dr K.R.Kirubakaran,
Thank you all for the love, kindness and prayers (for my speedy recovery).
Blessings, Positivity, Support and Motivation (also the Vibuthi) that kept me going to face this difficult time. Thank you all for being there unconditionally throughout as a great family, when I was away from mine.
Couldn’t have asked for a more positively vibrant hospital atmosphere and a better, positive care team throughout this period.
Also, thank you for putting up with me, my long talks and smilingly honouring all my requests to the best of your ability.
All my loves, best wishes and gratitude for you all. God bless!
Lots of Love,
Bhakti Prakash Bahirwani
