Life-Threatening Emergencies
Response: Under 4 minutes
Cardiac arrest, major trauma, respiratory failure, severe burns, unresponsive patients, acute stroke. Team activated before patient enters the bay.
Priority 2 — Yellow (Urgent)
Stable but Requires Prompt Care
Response: Under 10 minutes
Fractures, moderate chest pain, altered consciousness, high fever with seizure risk, acute abdomen.
Priority 3 — Green (Minor)
Minor Injuries & Illnesses
Response: Under 30 minutes
Sprains, minor lacerations, mild fever, non-emergency pain. Can safely wait in the fast-track zone.
Priority 4 — Black (Expectant)
Unsurvivable / Expectant Care
Directed to comfort protocol

Suspected Heart Attack

Have the patient sit or lie in a comfortable position. Loosen tight clothing.

Give 300mg Aspirin (chewed, not swallowed) if available and not contraindicated.

Do NOT give food or water. Keep them calm. Note symptom start time.

If unconscious and not breathing, begin CPR — 30 compressions, 2 breaths.
⚠ Do not drive yourself to hospital — call for ambulance.

Suspected Stroke

Use the BE-FAST test: Balance loss, Eye/vision changes, Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, Time to call.

Child Emergency
